Using an i nteractive case-study approach\, attendees will be invited to evaluate key decision points and share their perspectives as the claim unfolds. The pr esentation will explore how the rights granted to a surety under the indem nity agreement serve as practical tools for managing risk\, resolving clai ms efficiently\, and minimizing loss. Attendees will gain a deeper underst anding of how cooperation between the customer and the surety\, supported by contractual rights\, can lead to more effective outcomes for all partie s involved.\n\n \n\nMelissa Lee - Prior to joining Zurich\, Ms. Lee spent 15 years as outside counsel at the law firm of Manier & Herod in Nashville \, Tennessee. During her time in private practice\, Ms. Lee represented cl ients with respect to every aspect of surety law\, including takeovers and relets\, bond claim analysis\, bankruptcy matters and litigation in vario us courts in the Southeast. Ms. Lee has the unique perspective of having b een both a litigator and a transactional attorney\, with experience in the courtroom and large-scale workouts.\n\n \n\nMs. Lee graduated from Clemso n University\, magna cum laude\, in 2007\, and obtained her Doctor of Juri sprudence\, summa cum laude\, from the University of Tennessee’s Winston College of Law in 2010. \n\n \n\nMs. Lee is a frequent speaker at industr y conferences and is currently a Vice-Chair of the ABA Fidelity & Surety L aw Committee.
